New Zealand Institute of International Affairs is an independent NGO which seeks to promote discussion and understanding of international issues that affect New Zealand. It is not a pressure group: it is a forum for discussion.Founded in 1934, the Institute has long attracted people who have played an important part in making foreign policy. Recent speakers at the NZIIA Annual Dinner have included the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, as well as the Governor-General.
