ABOUT KENZIE MORIN

I am currently working with the Strategic Communications Division at Women and Gender Equality Canada on their Gender-Based Violence team. I previously worked in communications at the Ottawa Food Bank and the International Development Research Centre, and worked part-time in communications while in school. My academic background is in International Development at Dalhousie University where I defended an honours thesis project, and in Public Relations at Algonquin College. Inside and outside of work, I love learning about socio-political issues and their potential solutions, especially using systems-thinking. That\'s where my background in social sciences and social change theory informs my work. I believe that in order to solve these complex problems on local and global scales, a collaborative and participatory approach is vital. To this end, quality public engagement and consultation are powerful tools. That\'s where I hope to use my background in communications and public relations. My academic background supports these passions. I studied International Development and Sustainability at Dalhousie because I know that in order to address complex issues, I need a well-rounded, interdisciplinary understanding.
