ABOUT KENT STRÅHLÉN

I have made a transition from expert of machine learning via project management and people management to product management. My goal is to continue to move more towards the business side and being able to combine strategic work with developing my leadership skills in a senior management role. Experiences: 20+ years of machine learning in a commercial setting, all roles from engineering to leadership. 20+ years of working with medical devices. 13 years strategy work on different levels, all from patents, technology choices, portfolio management to business-critical decisions. 10+ years project management. 7 years people management. 7 years patent and intellectual property. 7 years teaching advanced mathematics at university level. Major accomplishments: Lead a team that built up the machine learning framework at the company. Lead the work to launch peripheral blood classification software on our second-generation hardware. Designed and implemented the image enhancement software used in the third-generation hardware. On my own refined and improved the machine learning tools and devised the machine learning software in the third-generation hardware. Lead the project that launched the machine learning software for the fourth-generation hardware. Developed the company\'s patent policy. Supervised several master’s theses. Lead a project that launched an advanced red blood cell application for both the second-generation and third-generation hardware platforms, that is a substantial part for the company’s software revenue. Did all machine learning related work in this advanced red blood cell project. Built up a highly successful Applications team. With consistent work I transformed my team from being male dominated to having equal number of men and women. Fostered two managers within my team, both women. Lead a project and a team that launched a revolutionary technology for the veterinary market that automates avian blood cell analysis.
