ABOUT KELLY KING

Hi, I’m Dr. Kelly King I’m a behavioral health leader and counselor educator with a focus on building and improving systems that support high-quality mental health care and workforce development. My experience spans clinical practice, higher education, and program leadership, where I’ve led initiatives that strengthen training, standardize processes, and improve outcomes across teams and programs.In my roles at the University of Phoenix, including Core Faculty, Program Chair, CACREP Liaison, and Director of the Counseling Skills Center, I’ve developed and implemented frameworks to align curriculum, faculty performance, and student outcomes with national standards. I bring a data-informed, collaborative approach to leadership, with a strong emphasis on accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.I’m especially passionate about expanding access to equitable, high-quality mental health and addiction care. As a clinician, I specialize in addiction and recovery and provide LGBTQ+-affirming care.
