ABOUT KAVITA MEHTA

Executive with over 27+ years of experience spanning public and private sectors. Leading the Regional Rail unit within Metro Program Management overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of projects, including grade separations, double tracking, light-rail, high-speed rail, and station improvements that will enhance regional mobility in the Los Angeles County. Coordinating planning and implementation of other commuter rail projects along approximately 150-mile of Metro-owned railroad right of way, that are or will be operated by Metrolink, Amtrak, CA High Speed Rail Authority, and freight. Previously managed the Sepulveda Transit Corridor Pre-Development Agreements (PDAs), a unique and very innovative form of project delivery method used for a mega transportation project. Accomplished manager with a track record of managing several large, highly-complex transportation projects, delivering on tight schedules and in challenging environments. Effective team leader and mentor able to grow teams to take on higher responsibilities, leveraging their strengths to drive achievement of goals.
