ABOUT KATIE WHITEHURST

For my entire life, produce has been personal. As a legacy of the state’s largest produce company, I believe in the vital role Royal Food Service serves in nourishing our community. When Mark Whitehurst and Craig Fleming joined forces to open their produce distribution company in 1994, we watched them tirelessly work day and night receiving fresh produce from local growers. Our Royal family shares pride in supplying nutritional fruits, vegetables, and specialty foods to restaurants, hotels, and businesses throughout the state. Everyone on the Royal Food Service + Royal Fresh Cuts team is part of our family. With each truck that we load with vitamin-packed, fresh perishable foods, we know we are sending healthy and wholesome foods to neighbors and friends. Royal Food Service leads the state as the number one produce supplier for schools and educational institutions. My team works with elementary, middle, and high schools in counties across Georgia. For nearly a decade, I’ve helped to grow our school customer base ten-fold. We’ve implemented new online ordering access for school administrators/ We provide guidance offering seasonal foods and cost-effective specials to support school food service administrators. We are passionate about delivering healthy fresh fruits and vegetables for Georgia’s school children. Instrumental in the foundation and double-digit growth of Royal Fresh Cuts, the Royal Food Service sister company founded in 2013, we provide customers with a line of premium fresh-cut produce. Thanks to our state-of-the-art facility, we prepare cubed, diced, julienned, and sliced produce, cut to order to streamline preparation for school and restaurant kitchens. A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and concentrations in business, communication, and international studies, I have experience in public relations, social media and blog writing, event planning, and A/R.
