As Head of both the Production and Technical departments, I have overall responsibility for the preparation and delivery of over 800 events a year, across two world class concert halls in Birmingham. We assess the full technical, production and logistical requirements for incoming pop shows, rock and roll, comedy, amateur performances, education events, conferences and much more. Within the role, I provide support with regards to hiring and ordering equipment, attend meetings with other operational departments to collaborate on event requirements and work in conjunction with visiting companies, technicians and artists in the presentation of any event. I also manage the contracts for our rigging suppliers and piano tuners, and oversee the maintenance of our pianos, organs and technical equipment on site. Alongside the delivery of events, I am line manager for our Production Coordinators, plus our casual, freelance and full time technicians. In addition, I manage the technical budget, venue equipment and stock levels, and training schedules for our staff.
