ABOUT KATIE MCGEE

Based within the Communications team at BAE Systems Maritime - Naval Ships, I support delivery of communications for the Canadian Surface Combatant Programme.Strong project management and organisational skills are critical in my role to ensure effective delivery of communications activities, as well as verbal and written interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain effective working relationships at senior levels across the business. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to- Producing content for and coordinating delivery of internal communications channels across Naval Ships, including weekly bulletin, internal television systems, intranet, blogs, videos, magazines and other publications- Working with Programme / Production / Functional Directors as required to identify their local communications needs and deliver effective communications support to meet these needs, including the production of weekly operations briefs, toolbox talks and local employee briefings- Managing internal events on behalf of Naval Ships from concept to delivery, such as Chairman’s Awards events, long service awards, leadership conferences, employee briefings- Working with Communications peers in our partner companies to implement integrated communications plans and ensure consistency of message across all audiences- Proactively working together with both internal and external audiences to provide communications expertise.
