The Translational Immunology (TI) department of Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) develops animal models that mirror human diseases. My work spans the animal study lifecycle to enable research across TI-gRED; I conduct studies with a focus on COPD, lead team-wide data analysis, and collaborate across departments. Experience- Data Analysis & Scripting: Independently wrote custom Python and MATLAB scripts from scratch for time series datasets; cleaned, processed, and visualized millions of data points across immunological assays. Integrated study-specific analytics pipelines and optimized team-wide workflows- Technical Coding Collaboration: Acted as a bridge between experimental and data teams by translating biological readouts into code-executable formats. Provided technical consultation on biological modeling and data structures for downstream analysis- Animal Handling & Surgery: Performed complex animal procedures (RO, IV, IP, IN, PO, PITI injections; tail vein/artery blood collection). Harvested BAL fluids, lung, spleen, and other tissues for molecular readouts- Disease Modeling: Developed and improved long-term COPD models (e.g. nCB/smoke) with immunologic interventions, including influenza and antibody treatment arms- Cross-Functional Communication: Regularly collaborated with scientists, veterinarians, immunologists, and bioinformatics engineers across TI-gRED to support translational programs- Molecular & In Vitro Work: Analyzed cellular profiles using: FACS, RNAseq, qPCR, histology, flow cytometry.
