I am a Legal Director & Trade Mark Attorney and I head up the Branding Group at Konexo, a division of Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP. Qualifying as a solicitor in 1998, I specialised in the field of contentious intellectual property and, some years ago, I dual qualified as a trade mark attorney. My background as an IP lawyer complements my trade mark practice such that I am able to provide all-round branding advice to clients. I advise a large number of household names and I am responsible for the management of clients’ global trade mark portfolios. I regularly advise in relation to trade mark selection, international trade mark and design clearance programmes, filing strategies and the prosecution of trade mark and design applications around the world. I also regularly advise in connection with trade mark registry proceedings, representing clients before the UK, Irish and EU Intellectual Property Offices and also before the courts. With my substantial IP experience, I provide a broad understanding of branding issues and advise on strategic issues regarding brand protection and brand enforcement. I have also built up a substantial reputation for dealing with online brand enforcement issues and regularly advise clients in connection with domain name registration and recovery strategies.Konexo provides a broad portfolio of managed services, interim resource solutions and consultancy services to in house legal, compliance, HR and corporate secretarial functions.
