I am Partner in Baker McKenzie\'s Corporate Tax Department in London. We are unique among London klaw firms for having well-established large hybrid teams of lawyers, tax advisers, accountants and economists. I am a member of the London management committee and Chair of our Global Technology, Media & Telecoms Industry Group. I am a solicitor, chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser with over 25 years\' experience advising clients on their tax matters. Prior to joining the Firm, I spent seven years as a partner at EY. Before that I trained at Andersen. I have particular expertise in advising technology companies in relation to all aspects of their cross-border tax structuring. I regularly assists multinational companies with the design of their global holding, financing, intellectual property and supply chain structures. I have worked closely with many clients on strategic projects in this space helping them navigate the complexity of applying different tax regimes across the world.I have been heavily involved in the OECD Base Erosion Profit Shifting initiative and the proposals for Taxation of the Digital Economy, assisting clients to determine the potential implications for their businesses. I am an expert in the UK\'s digital service tax and have helped many clients determine the practical implications of the new law.I frequently help clients to resolve on-going controversies with HM Revenue and Customs and has acted on some of the largest settlement negotiations in recent years concerning transfer pricing and UK diverted profits tax. I am experienced with both Alternative Dispute Resolution and the High Risk Corporates Programme. I have also appeared as an expert witness in an arbitration matter heard by the World Bank International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.I am a regular speaker on international tax issues and co-author of the Controlled Foreign Companies Handbook: A Practical Guide to Part 9A TIOPA 2010.
