An elected member representing a ward area of approximately residents within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Aside from community engagement and representation the role includes digesting large quantities of information and making decisions on often contentious matters. These matters are considered in public and determine the use of the annual budget, and upkeep of city assets.A wide-ranging and varied position, outside of the mandatory governance role other elements include- acting as a first point of contact for residents who need support- attending and presenting at community events, including public speaking- engaging and learning about the vast scope of Council activities that support the community and identifying where changes or improvements could produce better outcomes, either socially or fiscally.As part of this role I have represented the City of Port Adelaide Enfield on the Murray Darling Association, and the Metropolitan Seaside Councils Committee. I currently sit on the SA Power Networks Community Advisory Board as the metropolitan LGC representative.I have also represented the Elected Body on the below internal panels:The Audit Committee (20••••23)reviewing financial, governance and risk implications to ensure a transparent and efficient use of community resources. This is a 5-person panel led by an independent chair.Council Assessment Panel (2020 - present)Sitting as the deputy Elected Member representative on the Assessment Panel which reviews escalated planning applications and appeals within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
