ABOUT KAREN SHILO

As a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD & C) with ISO Energy Management Certification, I am passionate about facilitating sustainable development and ensuring positive impacts through innovative community projects and programs. Having a Master\'s in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts and specialty in Sustainable Energy, I have facilitated a diverse array of electrification, mobility, renewable energy, and sustainability initiatives for achieving organizational objectives. These have included infrastructure optimization, emissions reductions, and environmental assessment for solar farms, hangars, and electric vehicles and aircraft. I enjoy pioneering solutions for clients in environmental and sustainability planning while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). I have facilitated energy efficiency and emissions reductions at Federal Transit Administration (FTA) facilities, receiving the TIGGER 3 Team Award from the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center for support to the Investments for Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction Program. I have recently also supported work with national airports including Cape Cod Gateway, Fryeburg Eastern Regional, Martha’s Vineyard, Ogdensburg International, New York Modern Gabreski, Cape May and Delaware Airpark, State College Regional, and Key West International Airports. My goal is to create positive and lasting improvements for the environment and communities I serve.
