ABOUT KAREN J L.

As a long time storyboard artist and now a director, I’ve worked on a wide variety of animated movies and shows in my over 25 year career in both 2D and 3D animation, long form and short form. I love to teach and mentor upcoming talent and share my knowledge and experience whenever I can. I\'ve been the Director Mentor for the WIA A.C.E. 2 & 3 program and have done storyboard and director workshops for their mentees as well. I lead my team with humor, compassion and in a collaborative manner. I excel at character-based stories, comedies and musicals and I can find humor in a script when it may not be clear on the page. I always have a strong vision for the story I\'m telling and I communicate that vision clearly to the rest of the team for the duration of the project. I\'m organized, production conscious and passionate about my work. I have full knowledge of the animation production process, from script to screen.
