ABOUT KAREN CORNWELL

Obsessed with the Scottish 󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 mountains, lochs and our beautiful coast. Likes taking photos of Bonny Scotland. Foremost an animal lover. Owned by an Australian Labradoodle and Dutch Warm Blood. I am also a solicitor having qualified in Scotland in and England & Wales in 2010. I am a Notary Public. My background has almost been exclusively in civil and commercial litigation including (but not limited to) contract disputes, property litigation, professional negligence, repossession actions, personal injury, reparation, RTA, health and safety, restrictive covenants, debt recovery, banking litigation, financial services, actions of interdict, Sheriff Court, Court of Session and UK Supreme Court. I am an Accredited Specialist in Professional Negligence Law by the Law Society of Scotland having initially been accredited in 2014. I am a member of the Law Society of Scotland pursuer panel for professional negligence claims. I also act as the Scottish representative of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association. This is a voluntary role and involves organising the speakers and chairing the annual Scottish conference in Edinburgh. I embrace outdoor sports and regularly/weekly monoski/waterski (Elie, Loch Lomond, Town Hill Loch), snow ski (Glencoe, Austria), run, hill walk (Munro bag, Corbetts, Skye, Trossachs, Perthshire) and horse ride (Kilconquhar). I am also a keen wild swimmer in the North Sea and wetsuit free. I am a Committee Member and Covid-19 officer of Loch Lomond Waterski Club. I am company director (legal) of Waterski and Wakeboard Scotland and act as their anti-doping officer. I have a son aged 19 years and a daughter aged 17 years.
