Managed a cross-functional data center interconnect product team for one of Ciena’s flagship product lines, contributing an annual Rev of ~$500M to the business of the company. Customers range from the largest cloud network providers (Google/Alibaba Cloud) to traditional telecom service providers (ATT/Verizon). Defined long-term strategic vision of the product portfolio by customer research, competitive benchmarking, and product market fit analysis. Managed various software release streams as well as the backlog of product JIRAs, provided guidance on prioritization, and worked with R&D to turn those requirements into features which address customer needs. Worked with sales team to have regular dialogue with customers to identify their needs, and translated those ambiguous requirements into use cases and then into understandable product requirements. Worked closely with sales team on setting pricing strategies for tier 1 accounts to help win RFPs.
