I act as local and regional coverage counsel for various domestic insurance companies, as well as risk-retention groups organized under the Liability Risk Retention Act (\"LRRA\"). I counsel clients, handle settlements, and litigate cases involving all aspects of the insurance business, including statutory and regulatory compliance issues, and first-party and third-party coverage matters including matters arising from construction defect claims, transportation claims, environmental claims, pollution and toxic tort claims, and bad faith. I advise clients regarding policy wording and drafting issues, and routinely provide specific guidance regarding claims-handling issues for catastrophic claims, time-limited settlement demands, civil remedy notices of insurer violation (CRNs), Cunningham and Coblentz agreements, and excess exposure claims involving multiple claimants and/or multiple insureds.
