ABOUT JULIE GEHRKI
Julie Gehrki serves as the President of the Walmart Foundation and SVP of Philanthropy at Walmart, where she leads Walmart.org’s philanthropic efforts. She is committed to using Walmart’s scale and resources to build more resilient communities, accelerate economic mobility, and advance sustainable supply chains. In FY2025, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation contributed over $2 billion globally in grants, food, and product donations.With over 15 years at the Walmart Foundation, Julie has helped shape strategic giving programs that create lasting impact. Her career began cleaning offices, waiting tables and refereeing little girls sports - all jobs where she acquired skills she still uses today. Before joining Walmart, Julie worked in the nonprofit sector, where she gained a deep appreciation for listening to those she aimed to serve, an understanding of the complexities involved in driving systemic change, and insight into the power of cross-sector collaboration to create lasting solutions.Julie holds degrees from Rhodes College and the Clinton School of Public Service and was a Jane Addams-Andrew Carnegie Fellow at Indiana University’s School of Philanthropy. She serves on the Board of Directors for Independent Sector and the Walmex Foundation and as President of the Associates in Critical Need Trust.
