Versar Global Solutions is an engineering and consulting firm with 1,800 employees across 10 countries. I partner with an international team of 600+ with accountability for compensation, human capital management and employee relation issues. I was recruited as the first global HR Business Partner in the company’s history and was challenged to upgrade the existing HR function and align HR strategy with broader organizational goals. After spending some time learning about the organization and its challenges, I restructured the compensation of our infrastructure group, coordinated with our safety team to streamline workers compensation and transformed HR from a transactional administrative function into a strategic, multi-competence organization.
