ABOUT JULIA LIGHTER
I am currently a first-year call to the Law Society of Ontario and working as Contracts Manager at Moroccanoil. With a JD and LLB from Université de Montréal, I completed my articles at Just For Laughs, the world\'s largest comedy festival. I worked on contracts and media law matters, such as drafting, negotiating, and reviewing agreements with artists, broadcasters, and sponsors, as well as working on compliance with privacy and language legislation. I have over four years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, having worked as a senior contracts coordinator, a legal assistant, a production office assistant, and a development intern at various companies, such as Mediabiz International, Felix & Paul Studios, and Amazon. I have developed skills in writing, negotiating, researching, and drafting contracts as well as implementing project and rights management workflows. My goal is to become a versatile commercial lawyer and contribute to the advancement and protection of the arts and culture sector.
