Lead Root Capital\'s Impact MEL functions, driving data-driven decision-making and solidifying our leadership in Impact MEL for agricultural finance. I manage a team overseeing a monitoring system for 570+ clients across 17 countries, facilitating $128M in loans and 14+ advisory services in 2024 alone. This empowered our clients to reach 530K+ producers, with 87% of active loans filling critical gaps unmet by commercial lenders- Lead collaborative development and implementation of Root Capital\'s impact MEL agenda, informing organizational strategy and programming, streamlining monitoring and evaluation practices, and contributing to field-building and fundraising communications. During my tenure, the team has conducted 10+ rigorous impact evaluations, validating assumptions behind our theory of change or assessing our impact. For example, a 2023 Chiapas study estimated a 24.5% average annual revenue increase for Root Capital-affiliated farmers compared to non-affiliated counterparts- Lead, develop, and provide technical oversight to an expert team (~8 members in three countries) committed to upholding and, where required, setting industry standards for impact MEL related to rural agribusiness finance and development, and to top quality service provision to internal and external clients- Oversee the ongoing management and continuous improvement of MEL processes, tools, and systems. Responsible of updating and maintaining Root Capital\'s impact MEL strategy, priorities, and agenda.

Policy and evaluation expert with a Ph.D. in Development Economics and International Political Economy. I have the ability to coordinate, manage, articulate, and plan complex multi-actor development projects that incorporate rigorous evaluation methods- Experience working on development topics, local capacity building, public innovation, data analysis, and knowledge management with private actors, governments, NGOs, cooperation agencies (e.g. USAID), and multilateral organizations- Experience working on agricultural development, including monitoring and evaluation of the impact of programs and services promoting access to finance and capacity building for agri-SMEs- Over 14 years of experience working as a public servant and consultant in the supervision, formulation, and implementation of urban and rural development policies, and implementation of performance management and impact evaluation tools- Experience using data to inform and improve decision-making, with proven capacity in producing data products and reports and managing M&E and knowledge management systems- Background working and researching in innovation, international migration, local economic development, financial inclusion, poverty reduction, differential policies, and data analysis using remote sensing techniques and econometric impact evaluation methods.
