Following a brief hiatus, I have returned to the National accessArts Centre presented by TD committing to a three-year term.Since my return in June 2024 - and in under two years - we have secured more than $25M in public and private sector commitments to advance the largest capital campaign in the history of the disability arts sector in the Western Hemisphere. Work is now underway to construct the world\'s first accessible arts learning campus, anchored by the Joseph Chung Centre for Creativity (an sq. ft. performing arts learning venue) and the Trico Communities Accessible Arts Centre (a sq. ft. visual arts studio).I also secured the largest corporate investment in the history of the disability arts sector in Canada in Fall 2024 - marking an evolution in our NaAC brand to reflect our incredible partnership with the TD Bank Group.The organization now has annual revenues of approximately $2.8M, with 20 full-time staff and additional faculty and project roles.

ABOUT JUNG-SUK RYU
Jung-Suk (JS) Ryu is the founding President and CEO of the National accessArts Centre presented by TD (NaAC), Canada’s first multidisciplinary disability arts organization that was created in 2020 following the merger of three disability arts companies: Indefinite Arts, Momo Movement, and Artistic Expressions.Under his leadership, the NaAC has quickly grown to become Canada’s largest disability arts organization, tripling in size and establishing a national presence with the opening of the Won Lee Community Arts Hub in Toronto.Following multimillion dollar investments from all three levels of government towards the development of the world’s first accessible arts learning campus, JS is now tasked with completing two development projects: the Trico Communities Accessible Arts Centre (revitalizing the old Scouts Hall in central Calgary) and an adjacent, state-of-the-art performing arts learning venue recently named The Joseph Chung Centre for Creativity, set to break ground in Summer 2026. When completed, this campus will have attracted more than $25 million in capital investments to advance the disability arts sector – the largest recorded in the Western Hemisphere.In 2024, JS also helped steward the largest corporate investment in the disability arts in Canada – a development marked by the evolution of the NaAC brand to reflect its new partnership with the TD Bank Group.Prior to joining the NaAC, JS held several senior roles across a broad range of sectors, including: Director, External Relations with The Banff Centre; Director, Public Affairs with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB); Senior Consultant, Alberta Medical Association; and Principal Speechwriter to His Excellency Kaoru Ishikawa, Ambassador of Japan.Appointed a Salzburg Global Fellow in 2017, JS was also named one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine in 2019. He received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022, followed by the King Charles Coronation Medal in 2024. In his youth, he was appointed one of 100 Centennial Ambassadors for the Province of Alberta, and also received the Alberta Centennial Medal.JS currently serves on the boards of US-based National Arts Strategies, The Nonprofit Chamber, the Rocky View County FCSS Board, and the Canadian Art Foundation. Previous board roles include: Creative Calgary, the Health Coalition of Alberta, the Banff Heritage Corporation, and the Canadian Mountain Arts Foundation.
