Operational Monitoring- Monitor and control boilers, turbines, generators, and other plant equipment using a distributed control system (DCS)- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify any abnormal conditions, leaks, or potential issues- Read and interpret gauges, meters, and instrument readings to ensure all parameters are within safe operating ranges.Safety & Compliance- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, procedures, and company policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures- Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards set by organizations like ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association).Maintenance & Troubleshooting- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment- Troubleshoot and diagnose operational problems with machinery and systems- Assist maintenance teams and other tradespeople during repairs and overhauls.Documentation & Reporting- Complete logbooks and reports to document plant activities, operational data, and any incidents or maintenance work performed- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.Plant Systems Management- Manage and treat boiler feedwater and cooling water to maintain proper chemical levels and prevent corrosion- Operate and maintain water treatment facilities and wastewater systems- Oversee fuel handling and storage systems.Emergency Response- Respond quickly and effectively to alarms, equipment failures, or other emergency situations- Follow established emergency procedures to secure the plant and ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.
