I am a Wellington-based Company Director, Startup Investor and Business Mentor with considerable experience and expertise in technology, engineering, manufacturing, and service-based businesses. I have over 45 years of technical and general management experience in multi-national enterprises and large and small New Zealand businesses across several industries.From 20••••23, I led Times-7 Research Limited as CEO and Managing Director. Times-7 is the global RAIN RFID antenna designer and manufacturer, with an extensive antenna portfolio and the responsiveness and capability to meet all UHF RFID project demands. Times-7 manufactures in New Zealand and exports to over 50 countries. It is proud to have the world’s leading RFID businesses as its partners and customers. I am currently a Director and Chair of the global RAIN RFID Alliance, focusing on accelerating the adoption and use of RAIN RFID.Under my leadership, Times-7 developed several new transformative products, expanded its global distribution network, achieved significant revenue and profitability growth, and won several business awards, including the Deloitte Fast 50, as the fastest-growing exporter in the Wellington region. In 2022, I was elected as Chair of the New Zealand RFID Pathfinder Group, a voluntary society focused on promoting the adoption of UHF RFID / GS1 EPC in New Zealand.My passion is helping clients improve their business performance with the application of technology to enable data-driven, evidence-based strategic and operational decision-making.I’m committed to supporting the economic, environmental and social development of New Zealand and actively supporting several related causes. I’m an active member of Angel HQ, the Wellington angel investment club. I have contributed as a mentor for startup incubators, a Board Advisor, and a volunteer mentor for skilled migrant Job seekers.My professional career started in the oil exploration industry in South East Asia. I transitioned through technical and engineering management roles in the I.T. industry, with roles as General Manager and CIO for supplier and customer organizations. Over the last fifteen years, I have held CEO positions in sector leading NZ-based firms.
