ABOUT JOSHUA WEBB
Currently, I serve as a Youth Programs Site Coordinator/Director in Wake County Public Schools through the Alexander Family YMCA. In this role, I oversee daily operations across enrichment sites, lead a dynamic team of youth development staff, and coordinate family and community outreach. I design culturally sustaining programming that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and personal empowerment for students. My passion for education policy, research, and advocacy is rooted in real-world experience. I’ve contributed to major policy briefs, helped secure over $1M in funding, and published work on education access, critical race theory, teacher training, and equity in education. I bring a sharp analytical lens to systems change, having worked directly with stakeholders to bridge achievement gaps and inform state-level education reform. I’m pursuing a B.S. in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in English & Social Studies Education at NC State University. I am also an incoming M.A.Ed. Student at UNC Chapel Hill in the Educational Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship principles program, with a Learning Engineering concentration. My mission is to serve youth both domestically and globally through an equity-centered, data-informed, and justice-driven pedagogical lens.
