ABOUT JOSEPH JOEY HERRERA
I am a first-generation graduate specializing in data analysis, research design, and programming in R Studio. I am passionate about creating a more equitable society for marginalized communities through empirical research. In particular, I am interested in issues relating to sustainable economic development, gentrification, and student success outcomes. In May of 2021, I earned a Master’s Degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin while serving as a graduate student fellow for the Center of the Study of Race and Democracy. As a graduate student, my studies centered around strengthening my quantitative skillset with advanced techniques such as multivariate data visualization, random forests, and econometric modeling. Ultimately, I intend to pursue a Ph. D. in Public Policy and produce accessible research to inform society and policymakers. Let’s connect!
