ABOUT JORGE ANDRÉS MATALLANA

Development professional, currently working at FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)- the world\'s most trusted forest certification system- as Senior Manager for the Ecosystem Servcies Market Solutions programme. Our programme wants to bring the true value of forests to society by enabling the payment for the ecosystem services that forest stewards around the world deliver, so to scale the role of forest stewardship as a Nature-based solution to the climate and biodiversity crisis. I lead digital transformation processes within programme, acting as Product Owner for the Ecosystem Services Registry and coordinating business requirements for other technology developments that programme steers. I am also in charge of the development of operations for the roll-out of the solutions the programme offers, defining contractual set-ups, standards, and support systems for our license holders and country teams. My professional experience has taken me in diverse directions, such as developing of social research and designing/executing of youth education programmes, always working from a transdisciplinary perspective. I cherish my experience in education, as it helped me skills in communication and capacity building, and made me realise how essential communications are to create sustainable solutions.
