ABOUT JORDYN JENSEN
I’m a researcher and justice-driven leader dedicated to building non-carceral, community-rooted systems of care, education, and justice. As the Community Engagement & Communications Manager at the Center for Racial and Disability Justice (CRDJ) at UCLA School of Law, I work collaboratively with my team to advance cross-sector initiatives that dismantle structural racism and ableism, centering disabled people, people of color—especially disabled people of color—and those impacted by criminalization and coercive care.My work bridges special education, community development, and critical disability studies. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to everything I do. I’m passionate about reimagining crisis response, transforming institutional systems, and reshaping how we design spaces, policies, and futures.Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Planning & Policy at the University of Illinois Chicago, I am deepening my focus on participatory action research and advocacy strategies that shift power to communities. I believe real change is built at the intersections—and must be led by those most affected.
