I am a Commercial Director with over 28 years’ experience delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects within Tier 1 contracting environments.Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and Chartered Engineer (CEng), with a career spanning projects from £1m to over £1bn across highways, rail, major structures, and regulated infrastructure. I bring deep commercial, engineering, and risk expertise across the full project lifecycle — from early contractor involvement, tendering and governance, through delivery, commercial control, and final account.I have held senior leadership roles including Portfolio (Operations) Director, Delivery Unit Commercial Manager, and Corporate Risk Manager, leading multi-disciplinary teams across regional portfolios and national frameworks. My roles have combined operational leadership with commercial accountability, setting standards for safety, quality, sustainability, and governance while developing high-performing teams at all levels.A core strength is the integration of commercial strategy, engineering understanding, and enterprise risk management. I have introduced and embedded ERM frameworks, acted as Risk Champion at delivery-unit level, and supported executive decision-making through structured risk and financial reporting.I am known for building trusted client relationships, leading collaborative delivery teams, and navigating technically and contractually challenging projects to successful outcomes — always with a focus on value protection, risk management, and long-term business sustainability.Passionate about developing people, strengthening governance, and delivering complex infrastructure safely and sustainably.
