ABOUT JON HARRIS MAURER
I have the best job in Florida. I am part of a dynamic team working every day to secure full equality for Florida’s LGBTQ community. As a recovering regulatory attorney with experience in Florida and Texas government, I now focus on using policy change and litigation to address urgent social challenges, particularly for underrepresented communities. I collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to build consensus and advance common goals. My days go from a one-on-one meeting with a lawmaker solidifying support for smart ideas, to facilitating a legislative strategy session with grassroots advocates and partner nonprofits and corporations, to leading a citizen activist training or briefing for 100 people. My work involves complex challenges where the right answer may not be obvious, but I always know where to find it.
