ABOUT JOHN WHITFORD
Marine Biologist turned Ford Dealer then Telecomm Executive, Retail Business owner, Real Estate Broker and now Certified Professional Educator. How do this happen? It is life, you get knocked down, you get back up and find a new passion. Born into a family of Ford Dealers, I aspired to be Jacques Cousteau and became a Marine Biologist for the University of North Carolina. A couple of years later, I am sales manager and top salesperson with my family Ford franchise. I then spent 17 years working across the scope of the Telecommunications industry. I have not mentioned that I am a certified secondary NC Educator who has spent hundreds of days in classrooms across area schools. Married and father of two great men, I moved my family back to Wilmington 25 years ago. Growing up in a small town you valued your neighbor, who might be an employer, a client, customer, co-worker or friend. It was an environment where everyone was accountable to one another. I learned servitude from a sales career, ownership of responsibility from my business career, having patience from teaching students and my father\'s lesson of being at my best because someone is always watching you. Focused and Diligent for everyone I have served.
