As Quality Assurance Group Lead for Intertrain and TradeSkills4U, I provide strategic leadership across quality assurance, compliance and regulatory oversight for all funded provision, including apprenticeships and Skills Bootcamps. As the Ofsted Nominee, I lead inspection preparation, onsite engagement and post‑inspection quality improvement, alongside broader organisational readiness.Key responsibilities include:• Leading the quality assurance strategy for both organisations across all funded programmes.• Acting as Ofsted Nominee and managing all inspection-related activity.• Overseeing compliance with Ofsted, Matrix and awarding organisation requirements.• Leading the Rail Apprenticeship Operations Team and Assessor workforce to deliver high‑quality, compliant training.• Overseeing safeguarding at Intertrain, ensuring safe learning environments and effective reporting.• Managing the Learning Support and Functional Skills teams to deliver high‑quality learner support and compliant functional skills provision.• Conducting internal audits, quality reviews and risk assessments to inform improvement actions.• Working as part of the senior leadership team to enhance curriculum quality, teaching and learning, and learner experience.• Embedding a culture of continuous improvement through data‑led quality insights.This role unites operational leadership with regulatory expertise, supporting both Intertrain and TradeSkills4U to deliver exceptional, compliant and impactful skills training.

With a dynamic career across the railway and education sectors, I bring extensive expertise in quality assurance, compliance, and funded provision oversight. My journey began on the railway, where I built a strong technical foundation and robust problem‑solving skills. Transitioning into an NSAR Accredited Trainer Assessor, I developed my capabilities in training and assessing apprentices and delivering Sentinel‑based courses to commercial clients, ensuring alignment with industry and safety standards.Progressing into roles as Trainer Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), I gained deep insight into curriculum development, learner support, assessment practices, and the operational realities of apprenticeship delivery. As Lead IQA and later Quality Assurance Manager, I strengthened my expertise in quality assurance systems, compliance audits, and continuous improvement aligned with Ofsted, Matrix and awarding organisation requirements.Today, as Quality Assurance Group Lead for Intertrain and TradeSkills4U (City & Guilds Group), I provide strategic leadership across quality, compliance and regulatory assurance for apprenticeships and Skills Bootcamps. I act as the Ofsted Nominee and oversee inspection readiness, quality strategy, and performance improvement across both organisations. My remit includes oversight of the Rail Apprenticeship Operations Team and Assessors, safeguarding provision at Intertrain, and management of Learning Support and Functional Skills teams to ensure the highest-quality learner experience.My skill set spans railway engineering and safety, training and assessment, curriculum and quality development, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, operational leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
