The Manager Infrastructure Design is responsible for implementing all on premise and hybrid cloud Infrastructure solutions across Optus IT. The role is responsible for managing the infrastructure design team, providing workload management and technical guidance throughout the process of infrastructure design, procurement and implementation. Working closely with both Public Cloud and traditional vendors to develop on -premises cloud strategy. Key Responsibilities Manage Cloud and On -Prem Infrastructure Design Team. This position is accountable for developing and maintaining high level platform plans, detailed designs and cost estimates, next generation technology assessment and creating engineering guidelines or integration solutions for enhancement, growth and configuration to Corporate Network infrastructure platforms for both on -Prem and hybrid cloud. The Manager Infrastructure Design is required to identify opportunities to rationalise systems, with a view to cost reduction. In addition to driving up the utilisation within desired specifications and tolerance, these efficiencies will be measured by the savings achieved through the re-use of the standard Infrastructure design previously developed, as well as the use of shared infrastructure and improved technology value or pricing.The Manager Infrastructure Design will also utilise their in-depth technical knowledge and experience to guide the Business Stakeholders and Solutions Architects in their use of Corporate Network Infrastructure Platforms and Technologies within the project delivery framework. This role represents a lead/expert technical level within the team and as such demands the ability to operate without supervision for extended periods of time, exercising independent judgement to complete the tasks and assignments as instructed by Management.The Infrastructure Design Delivery team has end-to-end accountability for the design of all solutions
