ABOUT JOHN HOYLE

I am an energetic, resourceful, results-focused NED and Senior Business Leader, specialising in engineering, product development and technology. My main competencies lie in developing and implementing tangible strategies ensuring positive results for businesses, as well as constructing winning teams and influencing internal and external stakeholders. Primarily, I am capable of providing clarity, problem-solving techniques and global expertise, to certify profitable solutions and outcomes. Business Strategy & Direction Throughout my 3 decade-long career as a strategic business leader, I have developed accurate business strategy and techniques, to ensure companies move in the right direction. This has been demonstrated during my position as a Technical Project Manager with Cummins Inc.(UK). I have initiated a number of new multimillion-dollar programmes within New Power Division, with robust strategic project planning, ensuring accurate costing and NPV analysis. Additionally, I have demonstrated excellent business strategy and a focused direction, while working with Thornfield Services. As the founder of the company, I have successfully advised start-ups on technological development and business planning strategies. Innovation & Technical Expertise I believe innovation and technical expertise to be a great focus within my career, as has been demonstrated while working at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). After establishing a team to support the development and launch of an innovative company battery product, I supervised the multimillion-pound product development over the course of 20 months, on the business’s first ever in-house traction development programme for battery products. Previously, while running the Powertrain Research Team, I engaged with international businesses and brokered partnerships, as well as presenting a range of Jaguar Land Rovers ground breaking new technology at major European conferences and trade shows. Leadership Within the workplace, I have been noted as a source of reliability and a highly skilled senior leader. Not only have I launched a number of major programmes, achieving the necessary funding, approval and project ‘buy-in’, but I have developed business strategy delivering over £70 million worth of programmes while working at SAIC. I have also built, led, developed and directed a wide range of Engineering and multifunctional teams towards success.
