The futuristic PCAT slab track system is now a reality with a demonstrator test track now complete at Quinton Rail Technology Centre at Long Marston in Warwickshire. This comprises of 50m of PCAT-Rail (off street) and 50m of PCAT-Metro (on street ) funded by the RSSB-UKTram and Network Rail. The two year project has been accomplished by our team who have collaborated together to bring the conceptual designs to reality. Since 2002 the original idea could not have progressed without the support from Brian Forster at Pandrol, Andrew Ridout and JKP Static of Elastoplastic Concrete (EPC) and encouragement from Robert Armitage (Scott Wilson) AECOM, ex colleague David Hand at Mott MacDonald and best friend Mathew Taylor of Viaduct. The UKTram and RSSB - ABR projects (Stage1) have been achieved with assistance and cooperation from suppliers and contractors including Colas Rail, McCulloch Rail, Bison, Jet Plant, Pandrol, URETEK, Stabilised Pavements, and DWClarke and the excellent support and facilities provided by Colin Flack and his team at Long Marston. In addition this demonstrator project which is 100% funded would not have taken place without the excellent support from all the support provided by the Dept of BUS, the KTN and Futurail team. The PCAT test track is now on display and will be opened by Janes Hammett Director of UKTram at RAIL LIVE 2017 on 21st of June. If you wish to attend this event (you need to register on the official Rail Live 2017 web site) we would be pleased to see you and explain why this novel patented railway slab system was invented and how it\'s construction processes we believe will make a step change in bringing many benefits to our railways and metros in the future. For more information visit our web site at
