ABOUT JOANN PATON

With over 25+ years of experience, I am a Senior Human Resources professional who is passionate about transforming the HR function from a cost centre to a true value creator. The silver lining of the recent global pandemic is that the HR function has shown how critical it is to continuing operations by reacting quickly and supporting employees and leaders alike to integrate work and home. For many organizations who view HR as a strategic partner to the business, an enabling technology platform is typically in place and is a key element to creating an engaging employee experience. For organizations who are lagging behind, and most often it isn’t due to HR not raising the need for technology investment (!), the transition to working from home has been bumpy and the employee experience less than ideal. In my professional consulting role at Deloitte, I love working with clients who bring their People Strategy, Operating Model, Organizational Design, and enabling technology platform to life to create an operationally excellent HR function while creating a consumer grade technology experience for key stakeholders (e.g, employees, retirees, alumni, candidates etc.). My extensive experience, education, and exposure to various industries and leadership levels, uniquely positions me to step into the shoes of my clients, understand the challenges that exist, and work collaboratively to disrupt, elevate, and transform the way in which HR contributes. I am a relationship builder who empowers HR professionals to think big, ask what is possible, and then deliver what is probable, now and into the future. When you work with me, I will bring HR functional know-how, professional coach training, a graduate degree in leadership and exposure to HR practices in five different industries. I am an integrative thinker and trusted partner who engages individuals to deliver results which enables me to successfully contribute to a company and positively influence enterprise wide change. And I like to have fun while I do it too!
