Purpose of the position: Supports the online learning platform, courses and faculty, and Academic Administration Responsibilities: • Develop courses within the institution’s designated Learning Management System (LMS) • Prepare the components of a course including an overview, syllabus, learning outcomes, course content, proficiency assessments, and interactive activities. • Design a variety of instructional materials for traditional instructor-led courses, online programs, web-based learning aids or products, and other programs as needed. • Attend curriculum committee meetings and ensure approved changes in curriculum are implemented. • Collaborate with subject matter experts during planning and implementation phases of course design. • Facilitate the use of effective instructional approaches in the design and development of online courses. • Operate within a course production framework that is flexible and dynamic to allow for changes in technology, student/faculty expectations, changes to andragogy, new curriculum, maintenance, and improvement. • Deliver courses per a program/course development schedule and budget to meet the needs of the institution. • Follow a course design model that reflects best practices in the delivery of higher education degree and certificate programs. • Actively create and contribute to ongoing documentation, training, and knowledgebases. • Write and copy edit content for correct grammar, punctuation, style, and accuracy. • Manage rounds of edits and revisions throughout the content development process and be accountable for content quality. • Project manage course development from inception to completion and communicate progress to VP. • Participate in team planning sessions to implement productive solutions to new technology and functional requirements. • Participate, as needed, in the testing and piloting of new educational tools and features of new learning platforms. Make recommendations on applications of these tools.
