Maritime transport represents 3 to 4% of global CO2 emissions. The fouling which develops on the hulls of ships generates excess consumption estimated on average between 10% and 20%(IMO GloFouling Report 2023). The maintenance and cleaning of ship hulls with underwater robots is therefore an essential subject for saving fuel and reducing CO2 emissions. This mission is a real challenge, both technical and environmental.
