ABOUT JING IRENE A.

Experienced technical artist with a broad skillset and a lifelong passion for games. I have been working in the games industry professionally since 2016, and as a hobbyist long before then. I started off loving traditional art and digital painting, however, as I discovered the magic of coding and delved deeper into it, I fell in love with creative problem solving. My main areas of interest are shaders, VFX, UI, tools and procedural art.I keep an open mind about tools and use whatever it takes to get a job done. Having a broad skillset enables me to cover a large area of the project pipeline - I have a technical foundation in programming (First Class degree in Computing), a creative background in arts and strong organisational skills as a certified Scrum Master. Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to work on a number of very successful projects which are enjoyed by millions of people and featured in BBC\'s primetime TV shows.Aside from my day job, I believe it\'s important to care about the big picture, that\'s why I volunteer as a Woman in Games Ambassador at WIGJ and a mentor in a number of mentorship programs (Limit Break and Studio Vision). I am also heavily involved in training, mentoring, hiring, interviewing, and the shaping of an inclusive workplace culture.Skills:Unity (C#), Unreal (Blueprints), Shaders (Cg / HLSL / GLSL / Shader Graph), Material Creation, Substance, Rendering Pipelines, VFX, UI / UX, Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, Python, Houdini (VEX), Version Control (Git / SVN / Perforce), Asset Integration, Technical documentation & Technical Translation, Agile (Scrum)Hobbies:Drawing, Piano, Martial arts (Blue Belt in BJJ, 10th grade Phor Kune Kung Fu, occasionally dabbles in Freestyle Wrestling)I have the right to work in the UK and can relocate to other countries if work visa is provided.
