ABOUT JIGME འཇིགས་མེད།
Jigme leads a professional team in the secretariat that supports Parties to the in particular developing country Parties, prepare, submit and implement their nationally appropriate mitigation actions, nationally determined contributions, and long-term low GHG emissions development strategies. The team also provides technical assistance to developing country Parties on the existing measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) arrangements under the Convention and the transparency framework under the Paris Agreement. He also leads the support to the intergovernmental negotiations on issues relating to provision of financial and technical support to developing country Parties for MRV, and development of modalities, procedures and guidelines for the transparency framework under the Paris Agreement. As a part of that portfolio, Jigme is deeply engaged in capacity-building of developing country Parties to facilitate them meet their reporting requirements and participate effectively in the international consultation and analysis process. Prior to joining the secretariat, Jigme was working for the Royal Government of Bhutan as a technical focal point for climate change and air quality. By profession, he is a meteorologist.
