Lead partner, Pittsburgh Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice; Pittsburgh office EC/EB team includes three partners, one of counsel, four associates and two Senior Benefits Advisors. Practice covers all aspects of executive compensation and employee benefits; clients include large public companies, middle-market public and private companies, start-up and emerging businesses and individual executives. Industries represented include financial services, manufacturing (steel, electronics, chemicals and coatings, railroad products), consumer products, retail, and healthcare. We also represent not-for-profit educational and health-care employers. Part of firmwide EC/EB practice that includes 80+ lawyers and other professionals. Experience includes traditional and hybrid defined benefit plans, multi-employer plans, 401(k) plans, health and welfare plans, executive and equity compensation plans and arrangements, and fringe benefits. Advice encompasses qualified plan requirements, including required IRS and DOL filings and correction of plan defects; fiduciary compliance issues for both plan sponsors and vendors; compliance with plan funding and plan termination requirements for defined benefit plans under Title IV of ERISA, including pension de-risking and negotiations with PBGC; health and welfare benefit requirements, including ACA compliance; compliance of executive compensation and benefit programs with Code Sections 162(m), 280G and 409A, as well as securities law compliance; and fringe benefit taxation and tax reporting/withholding issues. Served as Office Managing Partner March 2015-September 2020.
