Jethro is a well-rounded, collaborative and forward-thinking leader, who consistently exhibits optimism, diplomacy, and pressure tolerance in mission-critical situations. With over 28 years\' experience in the maritime industry, Jethro strives to deliver excellence, innovation, and sustainability in marine operations and policy through thoughtful leadership and the application of proven Lean-Six-Sigma philosophies and technology.As the Vice President, Global Maritime Policy at Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA - the world’s largest cruise industry trade association and the leading authority of the global cruise community), Jethro is responsible for the Security, Environment, Customs & Facilitation, Medical, and Public Health portfolios of global cruise policy.Prior to joining CLIA, Jethro served in several operational roles, most recently as the Vice President of Marine Operations at American Queen Voyages™, Sr Director of Marine Operations at The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, and prior to that - the Director of Marine Operations at Holland America Group. While at American Queen Voyages Jethro oversaw all facets of operational marine activities across all business units (international and domestic), including asset acquisition and divestment, charter agreements, port operations, procurement and compliance of a fleet which included the largest existing U.S. river cruise vessels, and the world\'s largest passenger paddle steamer. During his tenure at The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Jethro played a pivotal role in launching the first luxury yacht cruise line under the iconic Ritz-Carlton brand. Jethro was responsible for the operations, recruitment, and business efforts of the marine (technical, nautical, procurement, port operations, security, and compliance) and itinerary planning departments.Across his entire operational career Jethro has been steadfast in his commitment to enhancing the guest experience and ensuring the highest standards of compliance and quality, while fostering a cheerful culture of diversity, positivity, and inclusion amongst his team members.
