ABOUT JESSIE LAFOURCADE-MORENA

I am a strategic communications and advocacy professional with 10+ years of experience shaping media, narrative, and stakeholder engagement strategies across West Africa. Much of my work sits at the intersection of climate resilience, food systems, youth livelihoods, and social equity—helping mission-driven organizations elevate community voices, influence policy spaces, and shift public understanding of systemic challenges and opportunities.As a bilingual (French/English) communicator, I design narrative campaigns, media partnerships, digital storytelling platforms, speeches, and editorial content tailored for journalists, policymakers, donors, youth, and frontline communities. I am motivated by communications that are not only informative, but also empowering—strengthening legitimacy, representation, and participation for actors who are often absent from policy and media spaces. My recent work has included moderating high-level dialogues, co-launching storytelling platforms, and securing media partnerships that increased visibility for national and community priorities.I value communications that connect data to lived experience, elevate dignity and agency, and enable public narratives that reflect complexity rather than stereotypes. I thrive in environments where communications, policy, and advocacy intersect, and where storytelling can contribute to institutional accountability, policy influence, and more inclusive development outcomes.
