ABOUT JESSICA R.

Growing up, my family hired a handyman for every little project around the house. I couldn’t understand why. We could fix it ourselves, right? That curiosity (and some improvised repairs along the way) transformed me from a wannabe handyman into a mechanical engineer.Today, I’m a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, passionate about transforming technical skills into hands-on, innovative solutions. I’m currently seeking a Summer-Fall 2026 co-op in product development or R&D where I can contribute to impactful engineering projects while continuing to expand my expertise in design and systems integration.My experience spans manufacturing, mechanical design, and prototyping. At KI, I engineered process improvements, designed pneumatic tooling, and earned a KI Hero Award for creating an innovative coolant containment solution. On campus, I serve as a Mechanical Engineering Student Assistant, teaching CAD and data analysis. This role has helped develop my leadership skills, allowing me to facilitate thought-provoking conversations regarding design among young engineers. I\'ve also gained project experience in embedded systems, aeronautical design, and rapid prototyping, giving me a strong foundation across multiple engineering disciplines.I find fulfillment in engineering because it combines creativity, technical rigor, and collaboration. I’m eager to keep growing these skills and to apply them directly in my future engineering positions.
