ABOUT JESSICA MURPHY
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Dialectical Behavioral Professional (C-DBT), 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification through the Yoga Alliance. Currently pursuing advanced training to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). As a clinician, I believe information is stored in our bodies from past experiences, and is not always readily accessible to us for various reasons. I aim to empower healing through a trauma informed orientation while incorperating acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, emotion focused therapy (EFT), dialectic behavioral therapy, and somatic experiencing to empower individuals towards a higher sense of self. I aid individuals in facilitating healing through systems theory, psychodynamic, Health at Every Size and liberation psychology framework. My clinical background consists began in higher education through creating curriculum development, academic advising, recruiting, budget management, and training. I have worked in all levels of care within the hospital systems; inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs in addition to the Chicago Public School system. I have a passion for working with folks navigating trauma, body-image, life transitions, chronic illness, LGBTQIA2S+, and those who are navigating disordered eating patterns.
