ABOUT JESSICA SMITH-SZABO

As a SHRM-CP and Human Resources Director at RHM Real Estate Group, I lead the full HR function for a multi-state portfolio in a high-compliance, performance-driven industry. With over 15 years of cross-functional experience spanning human resources, operations, and leadership, I specialize in aligning people strategy with business objectives to drive efficiency, accountability, and results. I hold a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management, with a focus in Strategic Innovation and Change Management, as well as a Graduate Certificate in HRM. My expertise spans workforce planning, employee relations, compensation strategy, compliance, training, and organizational design. At RHM, I serve on the executive team and directly oversee recruitment, payroll, benefits, policy development, and employee relations across nine states. I provide strategic counsel to leadership, manage legal and compliance risk, and build scalable systems that strengthen team performance and operational impact. Earlier in my career, I held several leadership roles at Ohio Citizen Action, including HR Officer, Field Staff Director, and Special Projects Manager. These roles sharpened my ability to manage talent, lead teams, and build infrastructure in both nonprofit and for-profit environments. I’m passionate about building resilient, high-performing teams and creating HR functions that serve as a strategic asset to the business.
