ABOUT JEREMY ROBINSON

I am a passionate leader in education determined to improve outcomes for all children and elevate the teaching profession.After completing a double-major in English and Spanish at Wabash College in 2004, I began my teaching journey on Chicago’s south side at Harper High School as a member of Teach For America.Serving the children and families of Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood awakened me to a host of injustices that unfortunately remain unresolved across our nation. It also convinced me that strengthening our country\'s education system represents a powerful solution to those challenges.A Rhodes Scholarship eventually took me to the University of Oxford, where I earned a graduate degree in English Language and Literature at Balliol College. While abroad, I felt a calling to return to the classroom. That drove me back to Chicago in 2008 as a teacher in the Noble Network of Charter Schools, a former recipient of the Broad Prize, given annually to one public charter school system in the United States that has demonstrated the best overall academic performance while closing achievement gaps and serving low-income students and students of color. For the next 11 years, I proudly taught, coached, and advised over students in addition to leading and managing various teams of adults at Noble’s Rauner College Prep campus. During that same time, I expanded my professional skill set through local, national, and international opportunities with organizations such as The Great Books Foundation, Dominican University\'s School of Education, the Urban Leaders Fellowship, DSST Public Schools, Teach Plus, the Chicago Public Education Fund, the Union League Club, the College Board, the National Math and Science Initiative, the Rhodes Trust, and the Schwarzman Scholars program.In 2019, after being named an inaugural winner of Noble’s Distinguished Teacher Award, I moved to the vibrant city of New Orleans—for love. Now at TNTP, I partner with states, districts, and schools across the country to improve academic outcomes, with the ultimate goal of putting all students on the path to economic and social mobility.Looking back, perhaps my proudest moment as an educator occurred when a former Noble student became the first in his family to graduate from college—attending the very same undergraduate institution I had attended (Wabash College), on the very same scholarship that had made it possible for me to go there (the Lilly Scholarship). That experience, among others, provided me proof of the virtuous cycle that access to a great education can create.
