ABOUT JEREMY CARPLES
I firmly believe in the power a good story has to change the world.I love building and selling brands… but one thing I don’t love selling is myself. So to make this easy, here are a few things about me in & out of work, delivered at the speed of social:1) Life lessons through skateboarding I fell in love with skateboarding at 12, and 30+ years later I still roll around whenever possible. Skating taught me perseverance, determination, creativity, a collaborative DIY ethos, and the importance of community.2) I didn’t plan to be a marketer, my values led me there My dad was in marketing, I didn’t think it was for me. I began my career mentoring/tutoring at a non-profit, then video editing. Storytelling & driving change through creativity led me into advertising, and 15+ years later I haven’t looked back.3) Fueled by (brand) transformation I thrive on curiosity, innovation, and strategy. Whether scaling a startup’s efficiency by 15% while retaining its culture, or repositioning Duracell with a refreshed brand architecture that drove a 6% equity lift with young consumers—nothing excites me more than driving impactful change.4) Pioneered a secret surf spot in the middle of Portland Yes, hiding in a city two hours from the Oregon coast. Sorry, no GPS pins.5) Curious by nature As a kid I got puzzles for gifts, I learned how to build bikes by taking them apart, and I do deep-dive research for fun. Impact comes from always asking “why”… before and after solutions.(My two-year-old appears to have inherited this trait.)6) Obsession with communities and culture To break through noise, empathy and authentic value must come first. I’m always in the comments section, browsing articles, and dissecting trends. This people-first approach helped me double Nike’s social community to 100M and launch Google’s AI (Gemini) channels, driving a 15% monthly lift in positive engagement. It’s not just building an audience—it’s supporting a collective of passionate, authentic advocates.7) Metaphors are my love language One of my direct reports once compiled a book of “Jeremy-isms.” If you’re lucky, I may share it.I’m always down to nerd out on advertising, strategy, social media, skateboarding, surfing, 90’s hip hop, or just brainstorm ideas. It never hurts to ask, so please reach out.Specialties: Brand Marketing | Brand & Creative Strategy | Team Leadership & Scaling | Brand Building & Brand Architecture | Audience & Cultural Insights | Insights & Analysis | Go-to-Market Strategy | Global Integrated Campaigns | Social Media Marketing
