ABOUT JENNIFER JAM MOORE
I’m the founder and co-creator of Project Upcycle, a sustainable fashion competition that brings together emerging designers from across New England to rethink materials, process, and impact. I also created PortSwap, a community clothing-swap that grew from a small, grassroots idea into an official City of Portsmouth program, welcoming more than participants in 2025.In 2025, I received the Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award from the UNH Sustainability Institute, recognizing my long-standing work in sustainability, creativity, and community engagement. I was a guest curator for Backstitch at 3S Artspace, an exhibition focused on circular fashion and design thinking during their 10th-anniversary season.I’ve spent much of my career helping ideas grow — projects, people, and programs — often starting small and becoming something larger than originally imagined. I’ve worked as a blogger, editor, and magazine contributor, and shared the #secondhandfirst message from the Portsmouth Music Hall stage during my 2023 TEDx Talk. Online, I go by RECOVERGIRL, a playful nod to Covergirl, reimagined through reduce, reuse, and recycle. My professional path spans libraries, publishing, and public media. After many years at the Portsmouth Public Library, I moved into educational publishing and later into marketing and audience engagement. Today, I bring that experience to New Hampshire PBS, where I focus on storytelling, collaboration, and connecting people with programming that informs, inspires, and reflects the communities it serves.
