ABOUT JEAN-PAUL HEEB
I am an enthusiastic and ambitious final-year Ph.D. student with a keen interest in NMR spectroscopy and synthetic organic chemistry. With an international background and broad scientific knowledge, I have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for learning, problem-solving, and putting myself to the test.During my undergraduate degree, I spent a year in Basel, Switzerland, working for Roche in oncology before undertaking my master\'s research project with Dr. Liam Ball on organobismuth chemistry.I am currently completing my Ph.D. at the University of Bristol as a part of the TECS CDT program with Professors Craig Butts & Jonathan Clayden where I am working on the development of new pulse sequences as a method to study dynamic molecular processes.Through my Ph.D, I have picked up experience with many analytical and synthetic techniques (structure elucidation, chromatography, retrosynthesis, etc.), tangential areas (DFT, machine learning, Python, etc.), and effectively communicated my research (including more than a dozen poster and oral presentations, of which I was awarded joint-best poster at two).
